How Does Holdem Manager Calculate Positions Based on the Number of Players at the Table?

Question: How does Holdem Manager calculate positions based on how many players are at the table?

*Note: We have a Reports > Cash > More Reports > Full Ring Position Report that sometimes causes confusion for customers.

 

This is a unique report that breaks down hands into 10 unique positions without adjusting it based on the number of players. This report has static positions, meaning it always goes in same order BTN, CO, MP+2, MP+1, MP, EP+2, EP+1, EP, BB, SB.  This means that in 6 handed games for example, Full Ring Positions report will show BB, SB, BTN, CO, MP+2, MP+1.

 

The HUD and the rest of the reports on the other hand use dynamic positions. This means that the number of MP and EP positions is based on the number of players in the hands.  Below you can see exact positions that are used throughout HM2 together with the Fullring Positions report.

 

In reports and HUD, positions are:

 

2 handed:
HUD + Reports BB SB
Full Ring Position Report BB SB

3 handed:
HUD + Reports BB SB BTN
Full Ring Position Report BB SB BTN

4 handed:
HUD + Reports BB SB BTN CO
Full Ring Position Report BB SB BTN CO

5 handed:
HUD + Reports BB SB BTN CO MP
Full Ring Position Report BB SB BTN CO MP+2

6 handed:
HUD + Reports BB SB BTN CO MP EP
Full Ring Position Report BB SB BTN CO MP+2 MP+1

7 handed:
HUD + Reports BB SB BTN CO MP EP EP (2*EP)
Full Ring Position Report BB SB BTN CO MP+2 MP+1 MP

8 handed:
HUD + Reports BB SB BTN CO MP MP EP EP (2*MP + 2*EP)
Full Ring Position Report BB SB BTN CO MP+2 MP+1 MP EP+2

9 handed:
HUD + Reports BB SB BTN CO MP MP EP EP EP (2*MP + 3*EP)
Full Ring Position Report BB SB BTN CO MP+2 MP+1 MP EP+2 EP+1

10 handed:
