Holdem Manager & PokerTracker Merger FAQ

  1. Why did you merge?
  2. How will the merger affect customers?
  3. How will this impact prices?
  4. How will the merger affect new product releases?
  5. How will the merger affect the updates and support for the product that I purchased?
  6. How will the websites and customer support change?
  7. How will this affect the development of a Cloud platform?

1.  Why did you merge?

There was an overlap in technology, support and infastructure between the two companies.  By merging into one company, we believe we are better positioned today and into the future to provide the best possible online poker software because of:

  • the combined experience of the two teams in developing and supporting software for online poker players
  • the efficiencies and scale created by the merger which will allow us to invest even more into improving our products.

2.  How will the merger affect customers?

We will continue to maintain, develop and support both PokerTracker and Hold'em Manager.  The changes visible to you should be minimal.  The vast majority of changes will be behind the scenes where we will be working to improve efficiencies and to explore opportunities to share code and technologies when appropriate.

3.  How will this impact prices?

We have no current plans to increase prices.

4.  How will the merger affect new product releases?

Plans for an eventual release of PT5 and HM3 have not changed because of the merger.  However, those products are currently only in the very early stage of planning. An actual release date for either has not been estimated.

5.  How will the merger affect the updates and support for the product that I purchased?

We will gradually cross train support teams for both products. However, this integration will take time as we ensure that we maintain the high standards that you have come to expect from both the PokerTracker and Hold'em Manager teams.

The development teams for both products will remain separate.

6.  How will the websites and customer support change?

Over time the PokerTracker and Hold'em Manager websites will gain some cross-brand unification such as the ability to link customer credentials. Eventually we intend to provide unified backend web services.  We hope that this unification will help us better manage our resources and improve user support options. We’d expect customers to notice very minimal changes, except hopefully a better overall experience.

7.  How will this affect the development of a Cloud platform?

As a result of the merger, even more resources will be dedicated to the launch of the Cloud platform and it will soon be available to both PokerTracker and Hold’em Manager customers.
